Reprogramming narrative tone: a case-based application of the NarrQuest system

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: In the wake of critical narrative pioneers such as bell hooks, Bayo Akomolafe, and Austin Kleon, this study proposes a systemic infrastructure that addresses their unrealized visions of narrative authorship. While their contributions expanded the epistemic legitimacy of voice, rupture, and self-publishing, they lacked scalable frameworks for replication, classification, and sovereign canonization. NarrQuest responds to this absence not as a supplement, but as an operational architecture that encodes tone into epistemic diagnostics, rewrites into narrative protocols, and authorship into sovereign practice. Building upon the methodology introduced in previous volumes, this article situates its inquiry through a narrative case study and a technical demonstration. The study includes a minimalist C program to illustrate the disproportionate scale between simple narrative logic and full-stack engineering demands, thereby exposing the infrastructural weight often hidden behind digital storytelling. Finally, through firsthand deployment on platforms such as Pubu and Amazon KDP, the article offers a pragmatic view of how digital narrative sovereignty can be instantiated, exported, and ritualized through publishing infrastructure. This work provides a blueprint for rethinking authorship—not only as expression, but as architecture.
