Abstract: Nipponentomon andrei (Ewing, 1940) (Figs. 1–11, Table 1) = Acerentomon andrei Ewing, 1940 Material examined. Holotype female (no. 53371), collected in dead leaves, Salt Lake, Utah, USA, 3.VIII.1937, coll. F. Andre. Remarks. The species was redescribed by Bonet & Tuxen (1960) and by Tuxen (1964) on the basis of the damaged holotype specimen. Some characters not provided in those previous redecriptions are added here. Additional description. Labium prominnetly protruded; additional cephalic setae d6 absent on the head (Bonet & Tuxen 1960: Fig. 57). Setae near pseudoculus l3 and sd4 setiform, seta l3 shorter than seta sd4, 8 μm and 12 μm, respectively (Fig. 1). Maxillary palp with two slender, spindle-shaped sensilla (Fig. 2). Labial palp with tuft of setae, three setae and sausage-like sensillum (Fig. 3). Maxillary gland with small, weakly granulated calyx and large proximal appendage (Tuxen 1964: Fig. 385). Foretarsus as described by Tuxen (1964: Fig. 386). Setae β1 and δ4 on foretarsus sensilliform and truncated on the tip, equal in shape and length (16 μm), slightly shorter than δ5- seta (Figs. 4, 5). Prosternum with 4 A -setae and 4 M -setae, mesosternum with 5 A -setae and metasternum with 9 A -setae, pair of A1 -setae present (Figs. 7–9). Thoracic tergite I with 3 pairs of A -setae (A1, 2, 5), not two as was written in Bonet & Tuxen (1960: Fig. 6). All accessory setae on tergites and sternites I–VII long setiform, on sternites slightly shorter. Meso- and metanota with pores al and sl. Meso- and metasterna with a pair of median non- cadjacent sam pores (Figs. 8, 9). Pores psm and psl present on tergites I–VII, al on tergites II–VII. Sternites III–VI each with a median spm pore, situated posteriorly between P1 setae; sternite VII with one anterior sasm pore situated on connecting line and with a pair of spsm pores (Fig. 10). Sternite VIII with sc pore, sternites XI–X with sam pore (Fig. 11). Hind margin of tergites IX–XI, laterotergites IX–X and sternites IX–X distinctly toothed (Fig. 11; Bonet & Tuxen 1960: Figs. 61, 62). Comb with 7–8 long distinct teeth, as illustrated by Tuxen (1964: Fig. 387). Female squama genitalis with stumpy, tripardite acrostyli, as in Tuxen (1964: Fig. 388).
