Abstract: This article explores D.H. Lawrence’s distinctive literary style through his use of metaphor, simile, and symbolism. Drawing on passages from several of his novels, it examines how his figurative language conveys emotional intensity, character psychology, and philosophical ideas. His depiction of flowers, colour, and landscapes reflects his characters’ inner states, while industrial imagery critiques modernity and emotional alienation. The analysis highlights how his figurative language bridges personal experience and universal meaning, immersing readers in a rich symbolic world. Ultimately, D.H. Lawrence’s style illuminates the relationship between personal awareness, individual desires, and the larger conflicts within society.
