Abstract: This paper explores the notion of derivatives of complex order, extending traditional differentiation beyond integer and fractional orders. We present the foundational theory, demonstrating its compatibility with the rules of classical calculus. Applications in analytic number theory, specifically involving the Hurwitz zeta function, are discussed. Through this new approach, we aim to provide deeper insights into both the structure of derivatives and their implications in various mathematical fields.
