Unlocking Potential: Investigating Science Learning Difficulties and Crafting an Intervention Hub for Grade 7 Students Empowerment at Sta. Barbara High School
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Mathematics continues to be utilized in real-life situations and scenarios. This research focuses mainly on the preparation of a self-study guide for Grade 7. The approach was tested among Grade 7 students in Sta. Barbara High School. This study employed the Type I Product Design and Development and Evaluation research method in crafting and validating an intervention material based on the previous least learned competencies in Science 7. In the Product Design and Development Phase of the study, the least learned competencies were the basis in the selection of the topic included in the development of the INTERVENTION MATERIAL. The data gathered were analyzed in terms of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Paired Samples T-test. The result of the study showed that the students' performance was below expectation. Data showed a significant difference in the students' academic performance before and after the treatment with the self-study guide; p < α= 0.05. Consequently, self-study guide was found to utilize and enrich learners' competencies effectively, and this motivated the teachers to provide more learning resources for self-directed learning.
