Are AGN neutrino emitters?
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: After the 2017 association between the blazar TXS 0506+056 and high-energy IceCube neutrinos there has been a large number of subsequent papers dealing with a possible link between blazars and neutrinos. And in 2022 came the somewhat surprising evidence for neutrino emission from the nearby prototype Seyfert II NGC 1068. Which, if any, AGN are neutrino emitters? And why?I will try to answer these questions based on the current status of the field, mostly on theobservational side, but with a sprinkle of theoretical interpretation.
