Emergence of Being from Non-Existence — A Hypothesis on the Informational Origins of the Universe
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: What if the universe didn't begin with matter or energy—but with a contradiction? This paper introduces a radical hypothesis: that existence itself emerged not from a pre-physical substrate, but from the instability of pure non-existence. We explore a philosophical and physical framework in which nothingness—a zero-dimensional, timeless, spaceless, fluctuation-free state—becomes unstable due to its own perfect symmetry. This inner collapse gives rise to the first identifiable distinction: a binary “1”, a spark of information. This transition (symbolized as 0 → 1) marks the beginning of time, entropy, and structure. We draw connections to John Wheeler’s “it from bit” theory, the vacuum fluctuations in quantum field theory, and sacred geometry as an archetypal symbolic language. Our aim is to offer a new lens for understanding cosmic origin stories, grounded in the intersections of metaphysics, quantum theory, and information science.
