Nano-theranostics: A novel platform in drug therapy

Abstract: A fundamental component of customized medicine, theranostics is a therapy approach that combines therapeutics and diagnostics with the goal of increasing drug efficacy and safety while also monitoring treatment response. It will require significant advancements in predictive medicine. Theranostics is linked to tailored drug administration based on test results as well as a diagnostic that screens patients for potential adverse drug reactions. Early diagnosis and treatment have benefited from the designed nanoparticles with unique physicochemical characteristics. This allows treatments to be delivered and the detection method to be employed concurrently, not just before or after treatment but throughout the entire regimen. The development of nanotechnology presents more opportunities for theranostics applications using nanoparticle engineering, and it has demonstrated encouraging outcomes, particularly in cancer therapy when compared with conventional treatments.
