Abstract: Summary. In order to valorize traditional textiles and identify them in the ethnocultural contextas a component of the national heritage of the Republic of Moldova, the art of textiles, the importance of traditional pieces and the evolution of innovations need to be researched multidisciplinary,approaching from several aspects: historical, ethnological, geographical, sociological, artistic, ecological, technological. The innovations implemented at the current stage in the field of textile art,coexisting with centuries-old traditions, give added value to the textiles repertory by us in nationaland regional museums, private collections and during field documentation. In this article we haveproposed to examine the evolution of textile art as part of the cultural heritage through the lens ofprevious research and the sources available at this stage of study.Key words: textile art, Bessarabia, Moldavian SSR, textiles, fashion design, traditions, innovations, heritage.
