D4.4_Database of farm-gate commodity & final product footprints for UC value chains

Abstract: This database summarises results from life cycle assessment (LCA) of commodities and food products derived from underutilised crops (UCs), using information collated during RADIANT from AURORA Farms and from other recent projects. The environmental footprints of UC commodities and value chains are benchmarked against counterpart commodities and products, derived from conventional crops and/or delivered through conventional value chains. For pre-commercial and early-commercial systems, hypothetical value chain configurations were iterated to explore potential contributions to future sustainable and resilient food systems. The database comprises an MS Excel file with 13 tabs, each containing life cycle inventory data and life cycle impact assessment data for at least one UC value chain and a conventional counterpart.
