Abstract: ABSTRACT- Social awareness is important in government policies because it helps people understand the needs, challenges, and dynamics of the populations they serve. Social awareness is a skill that allows people to: Empathize: Understand how others are feeling and take a different perspective on a situation ;Listen actively: Give your full attention, acknowledge feelings, and respond thoughtfully ;Be aware of interpersonal emotions: Understand how emotions can cause people to act impulsively and inappropriately ;Appreciate others: Recognize and acknowledge the strengths in others ;Be respectful: Interact with others and the natural world in caring ways ;Some ways to develop social awareness include: practicing empathetic thinking, formulating social goals and working to achieve them, voicing gratitude for others in social situations, and working on developing conversational skills.
