NATS Account & User Management
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: NATS as a message broker already comes with several options for authentication and authorisation built-in. This means that, ideally, an application's user account and permission system can be modelled in the message bus itself. Modelling the permissions on the message bus means that even if an aspect of the application were to fail to correctly handle authorisation, they would be unable to access any forbidden resources. This presentation introduces some of the more advanced methods of authentication and authorization in NATS.
