Abstract: This study investigates the utilisation of agricultural wastes in the treatment of industrial wastewater. Water pollution is increasing with the introduction of various pollutants such as heavy metals and organic pollutants into water bodies. Agricultural wastes have a significant potential in treating these pollutants by providing both low-cost and environmentally friendly solutions. This paper discusses how agricultural wastes are utilised for heavy metal, organic pollutant and nutrient removal by methods such as adsorption and biofiltration. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods are also discussed together with their potential applications for industrial applications.
