Application of Yuv Color Model in Real-time Image Processing

Abstract: This article discusses the use of the YUV color model for real-time image processing. This model, due to its ability to separate brightness and color information, is widely used in video compression tasks, as well as in video surveillance systems, video conferencing and other real-time applications. The advantages and disadvantages of YUV compared to other color models, such as RGB, are considered. The article describes subsampling and filtering methods, and provides examples of its effective application in various fields, including video systems and media platforms. Particular attention is paid to the possibilities of its use in virtual and augmented reality.
