Abstract: Genus Beardius Reiss et Sublette, 1985 A genus with>30 named species that occur mainly in tropical areas in the Neotropical region with a few species in the southern parts of the Nearctic region (Jacobsen & Perry 2000; Pinho et al. 2013). The larvae have been found associated with macrophytes or submerged wood in both standing and flowing waters (Epler et al. 2013).
