Abstract: The peculiarities of nutrition of hexapod species in the trophic chains of different ecosystems according to the classical scheme: producers-consumers-reducers with the introduction of the latest terms are argued. The modern classification of the superclass Hexapoda, which includes two classes: Entognata and Insecta, or more correctly, from the scientific point of view, Insecta, is highlighted. It is proved that the purpose of successful study of the parameters of development of this biota is the need to introduce the latest terms in hexapodology, which are based on the Latin language and are relevant at the global level. It is argued that it is logical to train specialists of this profile in special professional educational and scientific institutions of biological direction according to the specialty hexapodology (specialist - hexapodologist) and the corresponding components (specialisations): entognathology (specialist - entognathologist) and insectology (profession - insectologist), which is more knowledge-intensive.
