Abstract: 1. 2.We propose an external protective shell (ExoShell) that doubles as aminiature HVAC-style ducted cooling system for a modular, quick-swapnotebook (NB). Inspired by central air-conditioning, the ExoShellintegrates intake/exhaust plenums, edge ducts, and controllable dampersto guide airflow across hot modules (CPU/GPU cartridge, VRM, batterybay) while providing drop protection and EMI shielding. The approachdecouples air routing from the core chassis, enabling higher coolingefficiency without enlarging the mainframe.
