Femininity and Masculine Authority in the Novel Karuvachi Kaviyam

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: From the Sangha period to the present day, the status of women has been bound by patriarchal ideological patterns. They have waged many struggles to get out of the environment where women’s rights have been denied. But throughout history, obstacles have been denied. Women have been forced to fight for many rights, including education, economy, citizenship, voting rights, and property rights. In this world, men have the right to move freely. Whether that is what women are, remains a question mark in this century. Women are always the victims in the film of revenge. Patriarchy has continued to commit violence against women’s bodies and rights. This can be seen in Vairamuthu’s novel ‘Karuvacchi Kaviyam’.
