Abstract: The shrine of Piekary Śląskie as a phenomenon of the religious and social pastoral care of men and young men The shrine of Our Lady in Piekary Slaskie is an important center of religious life in Upper Silesia. Every year the sanctuary is visited by crowds of pilgrims. Noteworthy are the numerous pilgrimages of various groups of people. This study presents the phenomenon of the pilgrimage of men and young men to the shrine of Piekary Slaskie as an important form of pastoral care. In this regard, the article presents the main religious and social themes taken up by the two archbishops of Katowice (Archbishop Damian Zimoń and Archbishop Wiktor Skworc) during the annual pilgrimages of men to the Shrine of Piekary.
