Neutrosophic Reliability Assessment of Hydroelectric Power Plant using Universal Generating Function Technique

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The main objective of present study is to assess the reliability measures of a hydroelectric power plant under neutrosophic environment. There are several reliability evaluations like Markovian approach, Semi-Markovian approach, etc. However, these techniques fail to deal with the fuzziness of the data due to impreciseness. For this purpose, here universal generating function technique is used to evaluate the reliability and mean time to failure of hydroelectric power plant. The hydroelectric power plant is a complex structure having six subsystems having configured in series structure. The subsystem, namely turbine configured according to parallel redundancy. Each neutrosophic variable is illustrated by a triangular neutrosophic number and follows the Weibull distribution. Numerical results of reliability and MTTF are derived for understanding the system’s behaviour using triangular neutrosophic number. To highlight the importance of MTTF results are also represented graphically.
