Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing of Electric Vehicles: Metrological Methods and Case Study From Uzbekistan

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study presents the development and application of a metrological framework for assessing the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electric vehicles (EVs), focusing on the Leapmotor C16 model. The work addresses the growing need for harmonized EMC testing procedures in Uzbekistan, in alignment with international standards such as UNECE Regulation No. 10, CISPR 25, and IEC 61000. A comprehensive test methodology was implemented, including field measurements in an open area test site, analysis of conducted and radiated emissions, and uncertainty evaluation. Experimental data were obtained using calibrated equipment and covered a frequency range of 30–1000 MHz under controlled environmental conditions. The results demonstrate a high level of compliance, with all measured electromagnetic emission levels significantly below regulatory limits. The calculated residual deviations (ΔE) confirm that the electromagnetic environment generated by the vehicle remains well within permissible margins. Additionally, extended uncertainty calculations were performed to validate the robustness of the measurements. This case study contributes to the national metrological infrastructure by demonstrating an effective EMC evaluation strategy for modern high-voltage EVs. The proposed methodology ensures measurement traceability, repeatability, and alignment with global certification practices.
