Active Participation of Uzbekistan in the Implementation of Integration Processes and Projects in Central Asia.

Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This study examines Uzbekistan’s active participation in regional integration processes within Central Asia, focusing on its economic, diplomatic, and security-related initiatives. A dual methodological approach was employed, combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to explore the country’s role in driving integration. Qualitative methods, including thematic analysis of policy frameworks and historical context, highlighted Uzbekistan’s proactive diplomacy, infrastructure projects, and contributions to regional security mechanisms. Quantitative analysis, leveraging statistical tools and Python and Spyder programming, focused on trade volume growth and its correlation with GDP performance.Key findings include a steady increase in trade between Uzbekistan and its Central Asian neighbors, with an average annual growth rate of 5%. The analysis also showed a significant positive correlation between trade volume and GDP growth, underscoring the economic impact of regional integration. The study further emphasized Uzbekistan’s leadership in fostering multilateral collaborations, particularly through its involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and cross-border infrastructure projects. The results indicate that Uzbekistan’s diplomatic efforts, coupled with its strategic infrastructure investments, have significantly bolstered its regional standing and contributed to economic stability and security in Central Asia. These findings suggest that regional integration efforts, supported by both diplomatic and economic strategies, play a crucial role in shaping Uzbekistan's future trajectory within Central Asia.
