Importance of Mobile Extension Services for Farmers

Abstract: Mobile extension is changing how agriculture is done by smallholder farmers in India. The farmers make use of mobile devices to give live reports on the market, the weather, controlling pests, and modern farming techniques. As opposed to standard extension services, mobile services reach more places, such as isolated towns and villages. Online education can be enjoyed whenever and wherever, so learners do not need to go far and spend as much on travel costs. The services are designed for farmers depending on their needs, which makes them easier to use and decide with. Although there are problems with technology, knowledge about computers, and consistent network availability, mobile services are still valuable for farming. Technologies like Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI are expected to develop more in the future and make today’s services even better for farmers.
