Cognitive Analysis of Antonyms in English and Uzbek Languages
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study examines the cognitive mechanisms underlying antonymic relationships in English and Uzbek languages, exploring how speakers of these linguistically distinct languages conceptualize and process semantic opposition. Through a comparative analysis of lexical structures, cultural influences, and cognitive patterns, this research reveals both universal principles and language-specific variations in antonymic processing. The findings contribute to our understanding of how different linguistic systems organize oppositional meaning and the cognitive implications of cross-linguistic variation in semantic relationships.
