Abstract: In the structure of the Achaemenid civilization, cities and metropolises had a very important position. During this period, metropolises were created or expanded and they played a very important and influential role in the politics, economy, civilization, art and culture of the Achaemenid era. It will not be possible to know, understand and study the great and powerful Achaemenid civilization without paying attention to the various angles of political, social and economic life in these metropolises. This research seeks to analyze the role and importance of the Achaemenid metropolises and empires in economic, social and political development at that time. This thesis has been done in the form of historical, descriptive, analytical research and is based on the existing library evidences. From the studies and researches carried out in this thesis, this important issue was discovered; The Achaemenid government supported the political, economic, and social development of the metropolises, and this support was instrumental in consolidating Achaemenid power and civilization.Key words: Achaemenid, Metropolitan, Persepolis, Babylon, Susa.
