Resolving the Hubble Tension: A Systematic Environmental Bias in Supernova Cosmology

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The "Hubble Tension" refers to the significant and persistent discrepancy between the value of the Hubble constant measured from the early universe (via the Cosmic Microwave Background) and the value measured from the late universe (via "standard candles" like Type Ia supernovae). This paper proposes that this tension is not the result of new physics in the early universe, but is a systematic effect caused by the local environment of the standard candles, as predicted by Geometric Resonance Field Theory (GRFT). GRFT posits that the phenomenon of dark matter is the result of the localized compression or "squishing" of a fundamental field around galaxies. This paper will argue that this field compression alters the local physics of a supernova explosion and the propagation of its light, causing a systematic miscalculation of its distance. This effect is predicted to vary with the local density of the galaxy, providing a clear, falsifiable prediction that can resolve the Hubble Tension.
