Binary Star Collision as the Origin of the Solar System: Structural and Compositional Implications

Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This paper proposes a novel origin model for the solar system, in which the Sun formed from the merger of two nearly equal-mass binary stars. The collision's ejecta flattened into a circumstellar disk, forming the planets. This model naturally explains the flatness of planetary orbits, their elemental distribution, and the Sun's angular momentum profile, offering a compelling alternative to supernova-based theories.
