Beyond DPSIR – towards an ethically grounded Environmental policy model for catastrophic scenarios
Year: 2025
Type: preprint
Abstract: Unlike the traditional DPSIR framework, which remains embedded in anthropocentric and economically driven paradigms, the E-DPSIR model introduces a morally anchored escalation logic. It integrates ethical thresholds, ecological irreversibility, and mandatory supranational intervention triggers when planetary boundaries are breached. This transforms environmental policy from a reactive instrument into a duty-bound system of planetary stewardship — capable of responding to catastrophic scenarios where conventional governance fails.
