Abstract: UniMover is a student-focused e-hailing application developed to address the growing transportation challenges faced by students in educational institutions, particularly those located in rural or underserved areas. Traditional e-hailing services often fall short in such regions due to limited driver availability, high fares, and safety concerns. UniMover offers a tailored solution by creating a secure, institution-specific platform that restricts access to verified students, ensuring a safer and more trustworthy environment for both passengers and drivers. The application features personal profile management, real-time ride notifications, driver and passenger review systems, and customizable ride preferences such as gender-based driver selection and vehicle capacity. By integrating Google Maps, the app provides accurate route tracking and distance estimation, improving navigation and ride coordination. Its user-friendly interface is designed to be accessible for all users, making the transportation process more seamless and efficient. UniMover not only enhances mobility but also promotes student empowerment and sustainability. It enables student drivers to earn part-time income, encouraging peer-to-peer economic opportunities. Furthermore, the platform supports carpooling, contributing to environmental conservation by reducing vehicle emissions and promoting shared transportation practices. These efforts align with global sustainability goals such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which advocates for decent work and economic growth. In conclusion, UniMover presents a scalable and adaptable transportation solution for academic communities. It improves daily student life through safer, more affordable, and environmentally responsible transportation, with the potential to be implemented across various universities and colleges worldwide.
