Abstract: Generative artificial intelligence popularly known as GenAI have recently emerged as a hot topic of discussion now a days amongst various communities in the society like teachers, researchers, learners, practitioners and educators etc. This has divided the stakeholders into two categories. One group favoring the notion highlights the potential of using these tools to enhance the teaching & learning while other group raising concerns about the ethics and potential misuse of these tools. This paper primarily focuses on the exponential increase in the role of such tools in current scenario and challenges associated with it that needs immediate attention.
