Abstract: While much work has been carried out investigating the possible chemical reactions between reservoir rocks, cap-rocks, formation brines and injected CO2, the nature of PilotSTRATEGY calls for a site-specific approach to assess the reactivity of the rocks present at each of the proposed pilot sites. Batch experiments were carried out by UEDIN and BRGM on samples from Spain and Portugal and from France, respectively. Flow through experiments were carried out by UEDIN on samples from France, Spain, and Portugal, with complementary flow-through experiments carried out by BRGM on samples from the French site.
