Cloud Computing for Social Impact and Collaboration

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: As a revolutionary force in the digital age, cloud computing has opened sources of unprecedented access to computing resources, as well as enhanced opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors. By offering scalable, flexible, and cost-effective resolutions, cloud computing has democratized access to powerful technologies that were once limited to large enterprises with significant financial and technical resources. This shift has not only accelerated innovation but also opened doors for a broader range of stakeholders to contribute to meaningful change. One of the most profound impacts of cloud computing lies in its ability to foster association across multiple sectors—including education, healthcare, government, and non-profit organizations—facilitating joint efforts to address complex social challenges. As businesses and organizations adapt to take advantage of these technologies, the potential to create tangible social value becomes increasingly clear. Cloud computing enables not-for-profit organizations to operate with greater efficiency, decrease overhead costs, and expand their scope. It also supports global research collaborations by allowing real-time data sharing and joint experimentation across borders and disciplines. For example, cloud-based platforms have powered humanitarian responses, enhanced healthcare delivery in underserved regions, and accelerated climate research by connecting expert’s worldwide. This article sightsees the transformative role cloud computing plays in driving social innovation. By examining case studies, analysing secondary data, and tracing the growth and adoption of cloud technologies, the research demonstrates how the cloud serves as a catalyst for collaborative, scalable, and impactful creativities. Ultimately, cloud computing is emerging as one of the most significant technological enablers of social good in the modern age.
