New Framework for Cosmic Structure Formation Based on the Source Energy Field Theory

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Contemporary cosmology faces numerous unresolved issues, particularly regarding the fundamental nature of dark matter and dark energy. This study introduces the "Source Energy Field Theory (SEFT)," a novel theoretical framework that aims to provide a unified explanation of the cosmic structure formation. In SEFT, the universe is described as consisting of an energy field, and the cosmological redshift is attributed not to the accelerated expansion but to distance-dependent attenuation of electromagnetic energy and spatial curvature induced by the energy field. A general nonlinear wave equation is formulated to describe these fundamental energy fields. By applying specific observational conditions and introducing nonlinear terms representing the electromagnetic wave attenuation and spatial curvature effects, a particular solution is derived—yielding a distance-specific formula relating redshift, right ascension, declination, and distance. With this framework, all cosmic phenomena are interpreted as orderly modulations of energy fields governed by nonlinear wave equations. Energy propagates as waves, generating space and time while modulating electromagnetic radiation, gravity, and mass in an orderly manner. Using the derived relation, a distance-specific model was optimized with an integrated observational dataset from Pantheon+ and SH0ES, encompassing 1,701 data points including Type Ia supernovae and Cepheid variable stars (spanning distances from ~6.3 to 17,241 Mpc). Numerical simulations and model parameter optimization were conducted using Python's Anaconda environment and scientific computing libraries, employing a nonlinear least-squares method. The results demonstrate substantial improvements over the standard ΛCDM model: a ~23% reduction in root mean square error (from 189.79 Mpc to 145.52 Mpc), an increase in the coefficient of determination from 0.985 to 0.991, and a higher Kolmogorov–Smirnov test p-value (from 0.706 to 0.989). These results indicate that the SEFT-based distance-specific model offers a statistically robust alternative, providing a promising new perspective on cosmological phenomena and potentially complementing or extending the ΛCDM framework.
