Fragmentarium

Abstract: Review: Fragmentarium is an online repository for digitized medieval manuscript fragments run by the Manuscript Research Centre at the University of Fribourg. Unlike many other online platforms for digitized manuscripts (like DigiVatLib, RIALFrI, or DIAMM), Fragmentarium's focus is on manuscripts that exist only in fragmentary form, regardless of origin or host institution. More than just a repository of digitized images, Fragmentarium describes itself as a "digital laboratory," welcoming scholars to contribute to its corpus of fragments and the scholarship surrounding them. Its suite of cataloging, searching, and arrangement tools support scholars and the robustness of the repository alike, through a network of institutional programs, fellowships, and partner projects.
