Transferring and transformation of nitrogen and phosphorus of wastewater in microalgae, and microalgae-bacteria consortia system

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Nitrogen and phosphorus pollution was considered to be one of the main factors causing some water environment problems. However, microalgae and microalgae-bacteria consortium have special advantages in wastewater advanced treatment, therefore it has important significance to investigate and discuss the process and regular pattern of the transferring and transformation of nitrogen and phosphorus in wastewater for the treatment and utilization of them. In this paper, the path, morphological and influencing factors of transferring and transformation of nitrogen and phosphorus in water treated by microalgae-bacteria consortium were systematically described. The absorption mechanism of nitrogen and phosphorus by microalgae, and the synergic effect of microalgae-bacteria consortia system in the nitrogen and phosphorus cycle were analyzed and summarized. It was hoped to provide guidance for the treatment of different quality of wastewater and the optimization of treatment process, and give some scientific basis and theoretical support for water environment protection and restoration.
