Talismans of power
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Talismans of Power is an artistic project that explores the creation symbolic forms of resistance in contexts of precarity, displacement, and uncertainty. Drawing on popular traditions, the project reflects on the collective power that emerges from everyday rituals. Through sound-emitting ceramic sculptures, the installation transforms the exhibition space into a communal altar, where body, music, and memory intertwine to activate objects as contemporary talismans. The project connects personal memories of labor, migration, and celebration with broader cultural practices, demonstrating that even amid fragmentation, community can be invoked through rhythm, voice, and shared creation.
