Abstract: The silver economy, focused on the older adult population, emerges as a crucial phenomenon in today's digital age, with growing economic influence and cybersecurity challenges. As older adults immerse themselves in connected living, they are exposed to cyber threats while conducting financial transactions or accessing health services online. The intersection between the silver economy and life extension presents unique challenges and opportunities, given increasing life expectancy and participation in the digital economy. With a notable increase in life expectancy globally, approximately one in five people in Latin America and the Caribbean is projected to be over 65 years of age by 2050. This demographic change raises the need to address cybersecurity to protect this segment of the population. The silver economy focuses on adapting the production and distribution of goods and services to meet the needs of older adults and aging younger generations. The research is based on a descriptive and analytical approach to explore the silver economy, focusing on the older adult population, its economic influence and cybersecurity challenges in the digital age. The intersection between the silver economy and life extension highlights unique challenges and opportunities, such as the growth of scams targeting older adults, demanding innovative solutions such as promoting digital literacy and data protection.
