Systematisation of Knowledge on Severe Accident Phenomena and Experiments for Preservation and Transmission

Abstract: As a contribution to the transmission of knowledge on severe accidents, a methodology for developing a Phenomena Identification and Ranking Table (PIRT) for severe accident phenomena in light water nuclear reactors is proposed. The methodology takes into account the current state of knowledge as well as the importance for nuclear safety. The developed PIRT should identify the priorities for further research directions.
