Why was the Estates General was not able to deal with the issues France faced

Abstract: The Estates General, convened in 1789 after 175 years of inactivity, failed to address France's critical issues due to political instability, procedural confusion, and a lack of clear direction from King Louis XVI. Despite the Third Estate representing the majority of the population, its limited voting power led to frustration and a declaration of independence as the National Assembly. This assembly's Tennis Court Oath marked a break from traditional governance, but internal conflicts and rising unrest, exemplified by the storming of the Bastille, ultimately led to the dismantling of the Estates General on July 9, 1789. The institution proved incapable of enacting meaningful reforms, highlighting the need for new structures to address France's crises.
