Abstract: Various literatures created by creators from ancient times to the present have a long tradition. They are a mirror that clearly expresses the lives of the people. In Tamil, literature is not only aesthetic but also gives prominence to the life, culture and tradition of the people. Moreover, the purpose of literature was a high goal such as virtue, meaning and pleasure. The purpose of literature also highlights ethical concepts. Sangam songs are a treasury of the life and ideology of Tamils in Sangam society. Sangam literary songs are sung with internal and external news as their subject matter. In Sangam literary literature, virtue is related to public life such as war, charity, heroism and governance. The purpose of this article is to examine war and the ethical concepts expressed in war.
