Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to transform society in numerous ways, but it also poses significant risks. This paper explores the existential threats and misuse of AI, including loss of human control over superintelligent AI, autonomous weapons, economic disruption, cybercrime, deepfakes, surveillance, and bias in decision-making. While AI presents opportunities for progress, mitigating its risks requires global cooperation, ethical regulations, and responsible development.
