Type: article
Abstract: Cooperatives are people-centric enterprises owned, controlled, and run by and for their members to realise their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations. Cooperatives aggregate the power of people who, on their own, would find it difficult to achieve their goals. Cooperatives are thus, unique entities that reduce individual risk in undertaking economic activities through a culture of shared productivity, decision-making, and creative problem-solving. The National Cooperative Database (NCD) is an essential online platform capturing and organizing information on 830500 registered Cooperative Societies having membership of more than 29 Crores. It acts as a pivotal link between the Central Ministry and States/UTs. primary co-operative means the first level of co-operative under this Act formed either by individual farmers, individual non farmers, or Farmers' Groups, whose main purpose is the provision of quality products and services to satisfy the economic needs of the members and their communities.
