Abstract: This document outlines the protocol for a scoping review examining the relationship between open science (OS) and intellectual property (IP). The review investigates how OS and IP interact, identifying points of tension, alignment, and synergy, with a focus on knowledge valorisation, legal frameworks, and research dissemination. It aims to map existing literature and extract practical strategies for integrating OS principles with IP management. The protocol follows PRISMA guidelines and includes detailed methodology for data sourcing, screening, and thematic analysis.
