Type: article
Abstract: Human development is a multidimensional concept that goes beyond economic indicators such as GDP growth, focusing on enhancing individuals' capabilities, education, healthcare, and overall well-being. In India, a rapidly developing nation with a large and diverse population, addressing unemployment and underemployment remains a significant challenge. This paper explores the role of human development in employment generation, analyzing how investments in education, healthcare, gender equality, and skill development can create a more inclusive and productive labor force. Using secondary data from government reports, academic literature, and international organizations, this research identifies key areas of human development that can contribute to higher employment rates, better job quality, and economic resilience. The paper concludes by offering policy suggestions to improve employment outcomes through human development strategies.
