Abstract: Stress in psychology, neurology and psychiatry is a state of strong physical, nervous tension caused by negative factors or negative physical or emotional impact and feeling. However, stress is not an inevitable consequence of a given event: it depends a lot on how a person perceives the situation, how he reacts and how he copes with it. The stress inside us is partly instinct, partly comes from our way of thinking. Any factor that can disrupt the balance in the human body is called a stressor. The concept of “stress” covers both its action and the reaction of the body. Stress is the psychophysical reaction to a number of emotional, cognitive or social tasks perceived by a person as excessive. Excessive stress can easily lead to numerous stress disorders. The term stress was first used in 1936 by Hans Selye. He defined it as “the non-specific response of the body to any demand made on it”.
