Pheretima diffringens Baird, 1869 — Gates 1972: 177–180. See Borges & Moreno (1990) and Chang et al. (2016) for a full synonym list. Distribution. Dominican Republic (Gates 1972, as “San Domingo”; Fragoso & Brown 2007; Rodríguez et al. 2007). Remarks. The species was first recorded from the Dominican Republic on unpublished interceptions from 1892 by the United States Bureau of Plant Quarantin (Gates 1972).
