Using Authentic Materials to Assess Lexical Competence in Primary School Learners

Abstract: Through this article the author explores the important role authentic materials play in language acquisition. Besides that, there is provided adequate information about the current use of real-life materials in assessment of lexical competence in primary schools coupled with analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the application of authentic materials into EFL and ESL classrooms.
