Abstract: — Travel planning could be a very cumbersome task requiring a lot of thought to a variety of factors that include destinations, transportations, activities, most important being the budget, among others. Many times, individuals would spend several hours looking for different travel options and comparing prices or putting together itineraries by themselves, which can be very tiring and overwhelming. This paper comprises a Budget Optimized Itinerary Planner, which is a system for implementing cost optimization techniques in order to provide travel recommendations that would help in planning affordable yet effective travel itineraries. The system further involves considerations for a number of parameters like transport costs, entry fees, travel preferences, and also time constraints, to formulate an itinerary optimized according to the end user's affordability. The planner functions using real-time price information paired up with optimization techniques that would result in an itinerary within a reasonable outline of costs that ensures that users attain the best travel options possible without having to overspend. Furthermore, the system decreases manual planning by automatic itinerary generation. Thus, travel becomes more user-friendly, efficient, and cost-effective.
