Abstract: The rapid development of information and communication technology has changed the way we live, including the birth of digital platforms. These platforms are often dubbed as 'alternative universes' because they give users the freedom to do things the way they want. Social media is one example of a platform that has gained popularity among the public. The research method used in this study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Instagram has become a highly influential platform in the lives of Generation Z, which is a demographic group born into a rich digital environment. With features such as Reels and Stories, Instagram has provided a space for Generation Z to express themselves and interact in a dynamic and visual way. Instagram has become a gathering place for interest-based communities, where Generation Z can find and connect with others who share the same interests.
