Abstract: Psoriasis is the most common chronic dermatosis and occurs in 1-3% of the population, depending on the climatogeographic region. Psoriasis patients account for about 15-20% of patients in dermatological hospitals. Currently, data has been accumulated proving the comorbid associations of psoriasis with diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular diseases, depression, etc. An increase in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among patients with psoriasis has been proven in many countries, including Italy, Israel, India, Japan, China, Tunisia, and the United States of America. 6242 patients with psoriasis have been officially registered in Kazakhstan. About 30% of them have moderate to moderate forms of the disease. In our country, since 2020, psoriasis treatment has been included in the list of free outpatient medicines and is funded under compulsory medical insurance. Patients receive effective genetically engineered biological therapy free of charge.
